Stampin Up

A few weekends ago, I hosted a Stampin Up party. Dina, a friend from work is a demonstrator for the company and came over to show us how to create using rubber stamps. It was a lot of fun and really got the creative juices flowing. We all made bookmarks and cards. The hard part was trying to decide what to order - there were so many nice stamps!!! I think our orders are arriving this week - can't wait to start stamping!!!

Road Trip to Pittsburgh

On New Year's Day, Scott and I took a road trip with Mike and Helen to Pittsburgh, PA for a few days. Unfortunately, there was a snow storm on New Year's day so our trip down took forever!! The roads were treacherous and you could hardly see anything in front of you! It was a very slow and scarey drive down - poor Mike - he drove the whole way - it took twice as long to get there - but we made it safe and sound. Mike and Helen had meetings - and Scott and I hung out - we took a drive up to this resort called Nemacolin Woodlands Resort - what a beautiful place!! It was built by Joe Hardy - the owner of the 84 Lumber Company in the US.

We also took in a Leaf game while we were there - Mike rented the box - unfortunately, the Leafs lost!!! But nevertheless, it was a good evening!

The next day after the game, we drove back to Toronto, stopping at Grove City Prime Outlets to do a little bit of shopping - my favourite thing!!!

New Year's at Mink Lake

The holidays have come and gone - what a busy time it was with all the travelling we did - Florida, Peterborough, Bowmanville, back to Peterborough, Toronto and finally to Mink Lake for New Years! After picking up some lobsters and steak, we headed up to the Hollingsworths' cottage on Mink Lake. We spent a day with James and William - they were very excited to ride their snowmobile ... YES a real snowmobile - called the Kitty-Cat!!! They actually know how to drive it (with an adult running beside them of course! - as they haven't figured out the steering yet). We also went tobogganing - which the boys loved!! They showed no fear whatsoever!

We brought in the new year with a bang - thanks to the firework display that Drew and Scott put on for us (Scott got some fireworks from KABOOM). The show was spectacular!! Happy 2008!!!
