Thunder Bay - Visiting the Zubacks
This past weekend we were in Thunder Bay with Scott's parents for a family wedding - Jeff Zuback and Kim Rose (Jeff is Scott's 3rd cousin). We stayed with Rob and Deb and the kids - Adam, Brittany and Christina. I met the whole other side of the family - the Zubacks - every last one of them, and there are a lot of them!! What a wonderful experience - everyone was great and it was amazing to see the family dynamics amongst them - a very strong, loving family. Uncle Des, from California was also there - so that was an added bonus.
On Friday, Uncle John and Aunt Verona renewed their wedding vows (they were celebrating their 60th anniversary). This was followed by a luncheon at Mary-Carol and Jim's house. Friday night, there was a rehearsal party at Rick and Sandie's we attended. Afterwards, we ventured to the casino - partly for Uncle Dee and also to celebrate my birthday. I didn't end up playing anything - but I taught Deb the fine art of Roulette and she won some cash. We had a bite to eat there as well as a piece of cake to celebrate my bday.
On Saturday morning, Jim took us for a quick tour of Thunder Bay - we visited the Terry Fox memorial, Lakehead University and a few other sites around the city. The wedding went off without a hitch in the afternoon. And everyone had fun at the reception. We flew home on Sunday afternoon after the men played a quick game of road hockey.
Thanks to all the Zubacks for showing us a great time in Thunder Bay!

Visit to NY
Recently, Carole and I drove down to NY to visit Alix and John and their kids - Jack, Katie and Julia - and new puppy - Lucy! Along the way we did a little shopping at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet Mall - I think it's the number one Asian tourist attraction in America, or at least in NY! There were tons of stores - I think we spent 8 hours there!! We finally made it to Pelham Manor, NY - about 20 minutes outside NYC.
We had a great visit - hanging out with the kiddies at the pool at the country club they belong to - Pelham Manor Golf and C.C. We played golf one day with John and Alix - a very beautiful course! Then we had dinner afterwards and watched a movie on the first fairway - it was a lot of fun! We also ventured into the city one day - helped Alix do a "bit" of back to school shopping for the girls, and did a little shopping of our own. We had some great dinners while we were there - thanks John! Overall, a great visit - despite possibly contracting Coxsackie virus from Julia, having a 102.7 degree fever one night and the kicker - losing my wallet in a NYC cab!!!
