Spring Snow Storm

After the Leishman birthday party, Scott and I had to go up to Drew's cottage on Mink Lake, in Lake St. Peter - north of Bancroft, to pick up Scott's snowmobile. Just past Bancroft, we ran into a spring snowstorm! It was a blizzard and the roads were covered with snow - we had to switch it to 4-wheel drive for the rest of the trip. Had dinner with the Hollingsworths and spent the night there. It's so beautiful up there when everything is covered with snow. The next morning, the boys went out for their last ride of the year up and down the lake!

After dropping off the snowmobile in Peterborough, we stopped in to visit with the Fisher's for a little while - their kids have grown so much since the last time I saw them! Then we headed down to Bowmanville for dinner at my parent's house. First, we dropped off a birthday present for Emily - it was her 8th birthday on Saturday!! Then to dinner with the family - to celebrate my mom's 82nd birthday and Wally's 58th birthday!

1st Birthday

On Saturday we attended a first birthday party for Ruby and Cameron. I can't believe that they are already a year old! Ruby is walking and Cameron is working on his standing. Their cousin Kennedy was also there - she's growing too!

New Bone for Ginger

The other day when we took Ginger in for a haircut - I picked up a new bone for her. It was basically a giant breath mint with carrot bits. She loved it and actually ate over half of it!!! I had to pull it away from her so she wouldn't eat the whole thing in one sitting!

Ginger's First 2007 Haircut

This morning I dropped Ginger off at the Small Wonders Pet Emporium for a much needed haircut! Her stylist there is Peggy - who is very good with terrier cuts! Ginger was ready for pick up at 11:00 a.m. - record time!! She looks great!!! We are very happy with her haircut and I think she likes it too!! Although her bum is itchy!!

Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox

Well, today is Day 2 of my detox cleanse. I've heard that the first few days are really hard and I can attest to that!! I'm tired and hungry and I crave sugar and junk food and diet coke!!! But I am staying strong and sticking to the rules! I'm hoping that it's going to get better!!

Sunny Sunday!!

What a beautiful day it was today! The sun was shining, the snow melting! This afternoon, Ginger and I went up to the Danforth to meet Sharon and Anna. We had a nice leisurely walk across the Danforth and checked out some stores. Everyone was stopping along the way to say hello to Ginger. We decided to pick up some Greek food for dinner and take it back to my place. After dinner, Ginger got a much needed bath - and now she's nice and clean and super fluffy!! She goes in next Monday for a haircut!

New Sweater

Ginger got a new sweater and it looks great on her, although I think it may be a little big on her. Rachelle, who works at the Registrar's Office, made it for her. Ginger loves it!!

Cuts for Cancer

Well today was my big day! I got my hair cut and donated it to Cuts for Cancer. I was a little nervous at first, but I am very happy with my cut. My hair is actually longer than I thought it would be!! Thank you to everyone who sponsored me and who came out to watch!

Photos from Last Day of Trip

Here are a few photos from the last day of our trip - Calico Ghost Town and Vegas. At the ghost town, there was this building made with old bottles - it was really interesting (see the photos).

Back Home!

We are home - back in the big, cold smoke! Yesterday morning, after checking out of the resort, we drove back to Las Vegas. We stopped at this old mining ghost town - called Calico and did a little tour. Once back in Vegas, we did another quick tour of a few casinos, watched the fountain show at the Bellagio (witnessing a couple getting married during the show) and grabbed some dinner at the MGM. We flew on the red-eye and got in at 6:45 a.m. this morning. We drove up to Peterborough to pick up Ginger - we were happy to see her and I think she was happy to see us!!
Tomorrow it's back to work!!

La Quinta - Mountain Course

Today was our last day in Palm Desert. So to take advantage of the sunny weather - Scott and I played another round of golf. Through Stand By Golf - we were able to get a tee time at La Quinta on the Mountain Course. First we stopped at Lumpy's Golf Store - I had to buy some more balls since I lost all of mine yesterday. So, with a brand new dozen of balls, Scott's parents dropped us off at the course. We were paired with two women - Heidi (from Germany) and Karin (from Massachusettes) - they are sisters. The first hole was brutally difficult!! The second hole not much better!! In fact, I had a terrible game! The greens were all elevated and very hard to keep the ball on! However, the course is just absolutely fantastic!! As it's name implies, the course is built around the mountains - in fact, one of my tee shots ended up half way up the mountainside!! Again, I lost alot of balls - 6 of my new balls!!

Scott's parents picked us up and we went to the Beer Hunter to watch the Leafs/New Jersey hockey game - Leafs won in the shoot out. Tomorrow we check out and drive to Vegas - where we catch the red-eye back to Toronto - back to the snowy cold weather. I can't wait to pick up our Ginger Kitty - we miss her so much!!

The Valley Course at Desert Springs

This morning, after a pancake breakfast - we headed to Marshalls and TJ Maxx for a little more shopping before our golf game! Today we played the Valley Course at the Desert Springs Resort. We got the twillight rate ($64) and teed off around 1:30 p.m. This course was tough - harder than the Palm course!!! I lost 6 balls in the ponds!! I was brutal!!! I also lost $23 - we played a hollywood game - and I was the big loser today!! We finished our game just as the sun disappeared behind the mountains - it gets REALLY cold when that happens!

We went out for dinner tonight - to P.F. Changs - a US chain of restaurants serving contemporary Chinese food. Dinner was great - and we brought back lots of leftovers. Ben & Jerry's for dessert. We finished the evening with a few games of Euchre - Barry and I were the big winners at the end of the night!
