Happy Holidays!

Wow, it's already December 29th! Christmas has come and gone and we are now gearing up for New Years!! It's been a crazy few weeks for Scott and I - we've been on the go, go, go! We got home from Florida on the 21st, unpacked, cleaned up the house, shopped for presents, wrapped presents, etc... Then we went up to Peterborough on the 23rd for the annual Wood's Xmas party - stopping in Bowmanville first to drop off presents, then to Drew's to have dinner and give the boys their gifts. Off to the Wood's party at the Second Floor Lounge - a few drinks, catching up with friends.



On the 24th, we stopped off to see the Leishman twins and then drove down to Bowmanville for Christmas Eve with the Seto Family - dinner, movies, games - and of course, the opening of presents at midnight! We stayed over at Mark & Jen's and had Christmas Day with the Small Family - lots of fun! Then we drove back up to Peterorough after that - picked up the truck and snowmobile trailer and headed up to Drew's cottage on Mink Lake (north of Bancroft) - stopping in to visit the O'Connors and the Smalls on the way!



Not a lot of snow up on Mink Lake - especially for snowmobiling - but the lake was frozen. We shovelled off a huge rink surface! The boys studded their sleds, finally - both are very happy! I just hung out with Bob and Doe, read a book, lounged! Last night we finally got back to Toronto! But we will be leaving probably tonight to head back up to Peterborough, and then make our way back up to Mink Lake for New Years with the Hollingsworths and Rich & Liz! Lots to do til then!!! Happy New Year!

Shopping, shopping and more shopping

Well, I think I'm almost shopped out. Yesterday, we left the kids with Granny and Grampy and the four of us took off for the Miromar Outlet Mall - about 1/2 hour north of Naples. We shopped all day - from about 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. - and we all bought lots of good stuff!! Earlier in the week we shopped at Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less - make all sorts of purchases along the way. Today, we took the kids (to give the grandparents a break) to the local mall to see Santa - unfortunately the line up was 2 hours to see the Big Guy - so we kept moving on. It rained pretty much all day today - so it was a good day to shop. I'm NOT looking forward top my VISA bill!

Tomorrow we are driving up to Sanibel Island to go shelling! Ingrid and I have been dying to find some really nice seashells. Our plan is to get up at 5:30 a.m. and leave by 6 a.m. to get there early - it's about an hour and a half drive.

Naples, FL

It's been awhile since I've written on my blog. It's been a pretty hectic over the last week. We finished our kitchen off, had an open house, and flew out to Naples, FL (which is where we currently are). We are here visiting Scott's parents - Terry & Ingrid and the kids are also here. Ginger is at home and Anna is taking good care of her for us. We miss her so much!!

Naples has been fun. We've been to the beach twice, shopping a few times and just enjoying the sun and each other's company. The boys have played 9 holes at the Royal Palm Country Club (which is where Barry & Sandi are members). Tomorrow we have a tee off at a 9:45 a.m. - not sure who is all playing tomorrow yet.

We have a lot more planned - including a major shopping spree to the big outlet mall, more golf, and possibly an overnight trip to Key West. Unfortunately I can't upload any of my photos onto our computer - so the photos will have to wait til we get back (which is Dec. 21)

New Boots!

Yesterday, while on his way to drop off his snowmobile for servicing, Scott and Drew both bought themselves brand new snowmoblies - 2005 Artic Cat Firecat. Scott got a red one and Drew a black one.

So, today, Jane went shopping for new boots!!! And she found some!! Yes, after a matinee with Carole (Casino Royale), I called on my niece Sharon at Yonge & Carleton and we headed down to the Eaton Centre. Now, my purpose was to go to Sears to buy vacuum bags - but along the way, I decided I needed new boots - which I bought at 1/2 price at the Bay! What a great deal. Also, I conviced Sharon (finally!) to get her ears pierced!! Which I treated her to as an early Christmas present. After much, much coaxing and some food in her stomach - she agreed! And I think they look great!!! Congratulations Sharon!

Almost Done!!

We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! The kitchen reno is nearing the end. The tiling is done, all the appliances are installed, we've started the clean up. There are a few more little things that need to be done - some more painting, a bit of trim work, the building of the bench, a few more door pulls, but other than that - the kitchen is functional!
